Vision:

Eva Alewa Kauikalani Maria Geueke's vision for those who seek her knowledge is to learn to walk lovingly, with dignity and balance, through life. She aims to teach how to express one`s spirit effortlessly and joyously through movement. Awareness of the body and self will translate into awareness of others and our surroundings. Training your body with truth, respect, and love is a path to pain-free existence as well as to peacefulness, self-love, compassion, gentleness, non-violence, and gentle excellence.

Driven by a deep desire to heal her soul through creative expression, Eva Alewa embarked on a journey that led her to become a professional dancer. Trained at the prestigious institutions of Rotterdam’s Dansacademie and the Cunningham Studio in NYC, her passion for dance flourished. In 1987, Eva completed her professional Feldenkrais training, marking a pivotal moment in her journey of self-discovery in relation to body, movement, and dance.

Over the past 40 years, she has shared her expertise teaching

WaCo, Contemporary Dance, Qigong, Contact Improvisation, Choreography

and especially,

the Feldenkrais Method®

through private sessions, extensive 5-day seminars, and numerous weekend workshops across the globe.

She enjoys working with a diverse range of individuals, including adults, children, and youth, through classes and personalized Functional Integration® sessions. In these sessions, clients remain fully clothed and typically lie on a table, gently guided by touch to rediscover the connections to healthy, pain-free, and effortless movement and thinking.

Eva's passion for choreography has also led her to create evening-length dance pieces, often exploring profound themes of raising awareness about the sacredness of Mother Earth and the feminine.

Since 2000, she has been a certified qigong teacher, sharing her knowledge of the Universal Tao teachings from Mantak Chia. She is well-versed in various movement disciplines other than Feldenkrais, WaCo and Dance, having taught authentic movement, contact improvisation, yoga, capoeira, and hula. Since moving to Hawaii in 2002, she has immersed herself in hula, deepening her connection to its rich traditions. During the pandemic, Eva developed RSS (Release, Stretch, Strengthen), a unique blend of Feldenkrais, dance, and Release techniques that focus on core strength, leg power, fascia massage, and relaxation.

Eva wants to honor her teachers along the way. After years of dedicated work alongside the renowned Emily and Susan Harper, Eva Alewa has embarked on a transformative journey, leading her to create WaveContinuum (WACO). This innovative movement practice embodies a harmonious blend of sound, breath, and spiral movement. At its core, WACO strives to awaken the dancer's heart, fostering a profound connection to the ancient wisdom that resides within the very essence of life—embedded in the waters of our cells, our bodies, and ultimately, the universe as a whole. Through her teachings, Eva aims to contribute to a more peaceful world by cultivating awareness, self-love, and gentleness through movement. Each session of WACO is a gentle invitation to explore the depths of one's being, to recognize and celebrate the intrinsic beauty that lies within us all. With each carefully designed movement, participants are encouraged to surrender to the fluidity of their bodies, echoing the natural rhythms of life and embracing their own unique narratives. At the heart of Eva’s teachings is a profound commitment to imparting the virtues of peacefulness, compassion, and non-violence. By guiding individuals in the loving and conscious use of their bodies, she emphasizes the importance of nurturing a harmonious relationship with oneself. This practice is not merely about physical movements; it is a spiritual journey that encourages participants to release the inner struggles and conflicts that often plague their minds and bodies. In WaveContinuum, Eva introduces a gentle yet powerful approach to movement—one that transcends the physical and delves into the emotional and spiritual dimensions of existence. The incorporation of sound and breath provides a unique tapestry of experience, allowing dancers to become attuned to their internal rhythms and to the symphony of life surrounding them. This combination facilitates a deep release of tension and a fortification of inner peace, aligning the body with the heart and mind. Every wave, every spiral, echoes the fluidity of water—a symbol of adaptability, resilience, and connection. Just as water shapes and transforms the landscape, so too does WACO encourage individuals to explore their own capacity for transformation. The movement practice serves as a mirror, reflecting the inner landscapes of participants and inviting them to witness their thoughts, emotions, and sensations with kindness and acceptance. As Eva guides her students, she instills the importance of listening—listening to the whispers of the body, the gentle nudges of the heart, and the often-overlooked wisdom that comes from within. This mindfulness in movement fosters a deep sense of awareness, allowing individuals to tap into their intuition, leading to a greater understanding and embracing of themselves. The ethos of WACO resonates with the belief that true peace begins within. As participants learn to honor their bodies through this mindful practice, they cultivate a spirit of self-compassion that naturally radiates outward. Eva emphasizes that when individuals learn to treat themselves with kindness and acceptance, they become catalysts for peace in their communities. In this way, WACO becomes not just a practice, but a pathway to creating a ripple effect of love and compassion in the world. Eva Alewa's vision for WaveContinuum is not simply about movement; it is a heartfelt mission to foster an environment where individuals can reconnect with their authentic selves. In a world that often glorifies struggle and achievement, she invites us back to the fundamental truths of being—where gentleness and awareness reign, and the body is embraced as a vessel of wisdom rather than a battleground. Thus, embracing WACO becomes a radical act of self-love and peace-making—a sacred journey that holds the potential to transform not only the way we move, but the way we exist in harmony with ourselves and the world around us. Through this delicate dance of connection, sound, and breath, participants are led toward a profound realization: that they are part of an interconnected web of life, where every movement sends out waves of love and compassion into the universe. Eva's teachings stand as both an invitation and a reminder to cherish the beauty of existence, urging us all to embody the peace we wish to see in the world.
